World book day was on the second of March.
All of the students came in as a character from a book. Such as Hetty Feather from the Hetty Feather series, Amber from the Midnight Gang, Little Petey from the Dogman series and Hermione from the Harry Potter series. And much much more.
The juniors and seniors did games such as a book related treasure hunt.
And were encouraged to bring the book that they liked and tell the class about their book. They talked and played with their books.
Seniors and first class watched a video with an author called Julia Donaldson, and an illustrator called Ben Shefflin. They also did an exercise of speed reading.
Second and third did a webinar video with George Webster and the illustrator of his book 'This Is Me', and the message was that you should be yourself ,dream big and you can do anything! They did interactive thinking. The illustrator even taught them how to draw George in his book.
Third to Sixth met an Author in person called Olive Mooney. The author of a book series called 'The Chronicles of Cadaver College' .She read pieces of her books and some children bought books of her. She also gave a poster to some of the kids and to the school. “It was fun for all classes!”
